Program Highlight: 15 Years of SERVE Week

This June, we are marking a milestone that is dear to us. 15 years of SERVE Week! Hamilton County's biggest volunteer event has grown significantly from its modest start, and we couldn't be prouder of all that this community has achieved together.

Where It All Started

In 2008, a grassroots initiative was launched by a small group of youth pastors with a significant vision: to unite their churches in service to their communities. During the first summer, they coordinated several projects, including painting fences, constructing wall panels with Habitat for Humanity, and tidying up neighborhoods. What began with just a few volunteers wielding paintbrushes and shovels soon evolved into something much larger than anyone had expected.

By the third year, hundreds of individuals donned matching shirts and spread smiles throughout the city. In 2012, the initiative was named SERVE Noblesville and began spearheading the summer service week. In 2019, new programs were introduced, marking the official transition to SERVE Week.

What It Has Become

As each home was repaired, each street cleaned, and each neighbor assisted, something greater was unfolding. Noblesville was not merely receiving a new look; it was becoming a more resilient community. Individuals from diverse backgrounds and lifestyles collaborated, realizing that service extended beyond mere repairs to fostering connections.

Today, that vision has evolved into something extraordinary. SERVE Week has become the largest volunteer mobilization in Hamilton County, uniting approximately a thousand volunteers to undertake around a hundred projects across the community. These projects include painting, landscaping, shed construction, historic sidewalk restoration, and various neighborhood beautification efforts.

The Mayor's Office of the City of Noblesville has stated that SERVE Week offers hope and compassion that extend far beyond the volunteer work provided. Witnessing a few hours make a positive impact on a neighbor, community organization, or friend is something city departments eagerly anticipate each year.

This Year: SERVE Week 2026

SERVE Week runs June 23–27 and serves as the culminating event of our SERVE Season, a full spring and summer of community events designed to bring neighbors together across Hamilton County.

The Kickoff takes place June 23rd at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds from 6:00–8:00 PM, and we would love to see you there! Whether you are a returning volunteer or joining us for the very first time, there is a place for you in SERVE Week.

The Kick-off on June 23 marks the beginning of our SERVE Week with a focus on community, food, and excitement! This year, we will feature an expo showcasing our community partners! Chick-fil-A is sponsoring meals for the first 150 people who register! The Mayor will be joining us to celebrate another year! Additionally, there will be giveaways for attendees!

At the Kickoff, volunteers can come get your registration packet or get registered and get ready for Hamilton County's Largest Service Event!
